Sandblasting services across Ireland
August 12th, 2010 by Keith RyanAnother area of cleaning that Xcell Cleaning is xcelling at (excuse the puns) is that of sand and spot blasting.
We have extensive expertise in this specialised area, actually as much as we do with power-washing which is quite a bit with years of expertise in both these fields and all areas of cleaning from our varied staff and quality managers.
Sand blasting or more accurately spot blasting (despite its name sand isn’t used due to health and safety reasons) is the simple task of using particles of abrasives (shot) of varying media (depending on tasks involved) which are propelled at speed by a high pressure gun to remove tough dried on stains that powerwashing isn’t suitable for.

Power Washes
August 12th, 2010 by Keith RyanAt Xcell Cleaning we invest our time and money in offering you the best service and expertise when it comes to all aspects of cleaning. One of the tasks we include in our rota which mightn’t be as well known as others is powerwashing.
We have worked in the past in cleaning a variety of surfaces such driveways, concrete and brick to pavements, cobblelocks and patios through our dedicated power washing service.
Our Equipment
Our main power-washing tool is an outside unit, affectionately called Mr Gummy”, so-called because of its brilliance at tackling dried on gum, dirt, grime etc from a variety of surfaces such as pavements, driveways and walkways etc. This outside unit blasts away all manner of deep rooted dirt from concrete surfaces through a mixture of chemical and steam power.
We also have at hand with us a low and high pressure jetting equipment for stone and brickwork should the need arise.

Steam Cleaning Services & Wall Restoration and Graffiti removal
June 26th, 2010 by Keith RyanFor the removal of tough dried on stains from walls and pavements we have a special machine affectionately called “Mr Gummy”. It uses a pressure mix of heated water and chemical agents fed through an independent water and electricity mains feed to clean a variety of surfaces.
This powerwashing gun is ideal for a range of tasks including graffiti removal, wall restoration and pavement cleaning.
With this machine, water is heated to 130 degrees Celsius with (sometimes) a chemical removal agent being added to the hot water mix so that when it comes out at high pressure speeds the mixture will help blast away unslightly dirt, mould, grime, paint and gum etc from walls and pavements.
It is particularly effective at removing gum from pavements as a special gum removal agent can be added to the water which helps dissolve dried on gum from the pavement upon contact with the powerwashing gun. Once it is dissolved it can then be easily swept away, making what at first appeared to be a relatively hard task into an easy one.
Wall Restoration and Graffiti removal
As well as pavements, the steam cleaning pressure powerwashing gun easily removes paint and embedded dirt etc from walls, making the process of restoring them to their former glory, a blast (of hot steam literally).
The pressure washing steam cleaning method is also very effective for the removal of graffiti as graffiti removal chemicals can be added to the water to make the removal of graffiti easier.
It works because the process helps the nano-sized molecules in advanced green cleaners (the graffiti removal chemicals added) to penetrate deep into the concrete surface and break up all paint particles. These emulsified paint molecules can then no longer adhere to the treated surface, and are easily blasted away with the pressure cleaner.
Thus for the safe and effective cleaning of walls and pavements, our “Mr Gummy” is perfect.

Window Cleaning Tips
June 4th, 2010 by Keith RyanHere at Xcell Cleaning we like to avail of the very latest techniques and developments when it comes to our cleaning methods. With regards to cleaning windows we use a Water Feed Pole System or as we like to call it “the Wash n Reach window cleaning unit”.
The Wash n reach Window cleaning unit is a self contained unit suitable for any type of window cleaning job. It has a pole reach of up to 50 feet, so that window on the 6th floor is not too far away. This 50 foot pole eliminates the need for ladders or hoists making window cleaning both efficient and safe. By the time it would take to set up a ladder or hoist and absail around the upper floor of a building we will have half finished the job with the water fed pole system.
The Water Fed Pole System has helped transform the window cleaning industry. This technology allows windows to be cleaned remarkably well by brushing off the dirt with a soft bristled brush while at the same time rinsing away the dirt with nothing else but extremely pure water.
How can you clean a set of windows with just water and no chemicals one may ask?
Well this isn’t just any water, it is pure water, a different take on the H2O we are all used to. Extremely pure water is water that has had all of its impurities removed beforehand. Most water is usually impure having absorbed all manner of ions around it from the air etc, when water is converted to pure water its initial aim is to return to its natural impure state by absorbing any impurities found on the glass or surface it flows over. When it flows over a surface such as unclean windows in the wash n reach system, the ions in pure water attract fellow ions on the surface of windows etc thus dissolving and absorbing all available particles of dirt, chemical residue etc leaving your surfaces and windows spotless. This pure water dries completely smear free on its own, eliminating the need to squeegee or wipe it down afterwards.
Since the water fed pole system (Wash n Reach to us) uses nothing else except pure water, chemical or other cleaning agents are unnecessary to clean windows. Because of this, and since pure water dries naturally without streaks there is no need to have to wipe windows afterwards saving time and money. Pure water also doesn’t leave the traces of resident that all chemical cleaning agents leave behind on surfaces thus the windows stay cleaner and streak free for longer.
Overall we have found this method of cleaning to be the most efficient and effective method when it comes to cleaning windows from Cork’s best cleaning company.
